Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated Marketing Intern to join our team at Plant Development Services Inc. As a Marketing Intern, you will assist in various tasks to support our marketing efforts and enhance our online presence. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing and within the horticulture industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in updating web content for our six brand web sites.
  • Manage email newsletter audiences and create email newsletters.
  • Assist with content management to improve on-site SEO.
  • Plan and post social media content.
  • Update retailer locators to ensure accuracy and relevancy.
  • Monitor and communicate trends for our key audiences.
  • Assist with photography/video production and organization.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Basic understanding of SEO principles.
  • Creative thinking and ability to contribute innovative ideas.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Passion for plants and horticulture is a plus.

Job Title: Pesticide Spray Technician/IPM Scout

Reports to: Operations Manager
Exempt/Non-Exempt:  Non-Exempt

Job Summary: This position performs chemical spraying to protect plants from insects and disease threats to provide quality grown liners to our customers. Also, preventive scouting of pest and disease daily.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Mix chemicals in a precise and safe manner
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, particularly in chemical mixing areas
  • Operate spray equipment including carts, tractors, spray pumps, and spray backpacks
  • Complete spray paperwork
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Scouting crops to identify any pests and disease
  • Alerting Management of any pest and disease issues as they occur

Qualifications: 

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs(herbicide sack weight) 
  • Prior nursery and/or spray experience is a plus
  • Experience with identifying pest and disease preferred
  • Pass medical fit for duty testing annually
  • Must be able to read and understand instructions and safety information on SDS sheets for the chemicals being used.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods outdoors and in variable weather conditions.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal directions.

Work Environment: 

Outside  – exposed to very cold and very hot temperatures.
