Encore Azaleas to be featured in Bush’s Pasture Park in Salem, Oregon

Loxley, Alabama (July 23, 2012)— Encore Azalea is pleased to be growing in Oregon’s most premier park, Bush’s Pasture Park in Salem. Encore Azaleas have been planted in the Rhododendron Hillside as a feature near the Hillside’s main Overlook.

Bush’s Pasture Park is home to a rose test garden, a large collection of historic rhododendrons and azaleas, an extensive arboretum, an historic home, an art barn, a wide range of picnic and play areas, and wild flower areas and a major stream.  Annually, hundreds of thousand visitors enjoy Oregon’s largest art festival, historic tours, wild flower tours, and the constantly changing blooms throughout the Park.

“This May we saw the blooming of the older portion of the Rhododendron Hillside and we are happy to bring in new color for spring and fall from Encore Azalea with the donation of seven varieties,” said Wally Reed, President of Willamette Chapter American Rhododendron Society

Located at the south end of the new Rhododendron Hillside is the inviting Overlook that provides views of the older and new collection that was donated by Encore Azalea. To achieve year round color, a large cluster of 28 Encore Azaleas have been planted adjacent to the Overlook that will bloom three times a year and greatly enhance the area. Those visiting the Rhododendron Hillside who enjoy spring blooming azaleas can now enjoy an explosion of color season after season, courtesy of Encore Azalea.
