Southern Living® Plant Collection to debut Designer Series container gardens
Loxley, AL – September 4, 2012 – Carmen Johnston, garden lifestyle expert for the Southern Living® Plant Collection, will be a featured speaker at Southern Living Speaker Series during the State Fair of Texas, set for Sept. 28 – Oct. 21, 2012 at Fair Park in Dallas.
Visitors to the speaker series, sponsored by the Southern Living Plant Collection, will enjoy informative gardening sessions from experts in an outdoor living garden. All sessions, which will be held in the Greenhouse on the Midway, are free with admission to the Fair.
Johnston, who will speak on Sunday, Oct. 7, will debut her new Southern Living® Plant Collection designer container gardens, sharing easy-to-follow container “recipes” using edibles like rosemary for cocktails and cooking, and other creative ideas that inspire others to share in her passion for gardening. A garden designer, garden lifestyle expert and founder of the garden event company, Nectar and Company, Johnston contributes ideas on how to incorporate the love of gardening into day-to-day life. She designs for stunning events and commercial and residential properties in and around the Southeast, and hosts unique garden parties that inspire and draw both novice and experienced gardeners back to gardening.
Other notable garden show speakers will include Southern Living editor Steve Bender, also known as The Grumpy Gardener, on Saturday, Sept. 29, and Robert “Buddy” Lee, the inventor of Encore® Azalea, on Saturday, Oct. 6.
