Groundbreaker® Hydrangea introduces a naturally low-growing, groundcover form that expands where panicle hydrangeas can be used.
Living Creations® Hydrangea brings a broad collection known for bold color, strong stems, extended bloom and winter resilience.
Together, the two brands will introduce 17 distinctive new varieties to the North American market in 2027.
Groundbreaker® Hydrangeas

Groundbreaker® Hydrangea brings the abundant blooms and robust growth gardeners expect from Hydrangea paniculata in an entirely new form.
Reaching just 1 foot tall by 2 feet wide, this naturally low-growing collection creates new possibilities for places traditional hydrangeas may not fit—from compact gardens and borders to mass plantings and broad sweeps of summer color—at a time when space-conscious gardening has reached historic demand.
Hardy in USDA Zones 5–8 and suited to full sun to partial shade, Groundbreaker® varieties offer exceptionally long bloom time and easy care, flowering steadily from July through September and requiring only one early prune to maintain their distinctive form and heavy flowering.
The collection has already earned international recognition, including Groundbreaker® Ruby™ Hydrangea being awarded second place for the 2026 Chelsea Flower Show Plant of the Year.

The North American introduction will launch with 14 varieties, offering a broad palette of flower colors and transformations—from the subtly shifting hues of Living Candy Love® to the crisp apple green of Living Little Apple®.
